What’s Next for the Studio?
A lot has been happening behind the scenes at Tiny Brain Studios, and with several new things taking shape, now feels like a good time to talk about where the studio is heading.
Introducing the TBS Workshop
One of the biggest changes is the introduction of the TBS Workshop.
Not every game needs to become a massive multi-year project. Sometimes we have an idea that is simply fun, interesting, or worth experimenting with. The TBS Workshop gives us a place to make those ideas happen.
Workshop projects are smaller games and experiments with a much tighter scope. They give us the freedom to try new mechanics, explore different genres and, most importantly, actually finish and release more of the ideas we come up with.
That doesn’t mean Tiny Brain Studios is moving away from larger projects. The Workshop exists alongside them. It gives us room to experiment, learn and create without every idea needing to grow into our next major title.
You’ve actually already seen the first result of this initiative: Shelfbound, our first TBS Workshop release.
Looking Towards Anime Con 2027
We’re also setting our sights on something considerably bigger for Tiny Brain Studios: Anime Con 2027.
Our goal is to bring Tiny Brain Studios and our games directly to players at the convention. There is still plenty of work ahead before we can share exactly what that will look like, but preparations have started and Anime Con 2027 will be an important focus for us going forward.
We want to have something that people can sit down, play and experience for themselves.
There will be much more to share as we get closer.
Development Is Going Live
There is also a new way to follow what happens at Tiny Brain Studios.
Ricky, also known as TiberTheDeveloper, is now streaming regularly on Twitch.
Streams range from game development and behind-the-scenes work to playing games, collaborating with other creators and generally showing more of one of the person behind Tiny Brain Studios.
For us, it is also an opportunity to make development a little more open. Instead of only seeing a finished trailer or announcement, you may occasionally get to see the experiments, mistakes, ideas and development that happen before a game reaches that point.
More to Come
Between the TBS Workshop, our plans for Anime Con 2027 and bringing more of our development online, Tiny Brain Studios is entering a new chapter.
Some projects will be small. Some will be considerably more ambitious. Some experiments might even stay experiments.
But there is a lot more being built behind the scenes.
And we’re looking forward to showing you what comes next.
